About Pia Siskodotter

I live and work in Gothenburg. My studio is in an old printworks in Majorna, with tall north-facing windows, and in summer I paint out on Koster as often as I can.

I paint landscapes, interiors and still lifes, mostly in oil. Many paintings begin as sketches made on the spot and are finished in the studio, sometimes months later.

The writing began as notes in my sketchbooks. Now painting and writing take turns: when a painting gets stuck I write, and when the writing stalls I go back to the easel. So far there have been four books, most recently Studio Notes (2026).

I studied painting in Gothenburg and Stockholm and have exhibited at galleries and art spaces around Sweden. Visits to the studio are welcome by appointment. Write to hej@siskodotter.com.
